The first 3 lessons she did everything the teacher asked, but was just holding back the tears the whole lesson. She is happy now! She has her 6th lesson today. She still doesn't go very far but she loves the water.
Is this kind of lesson unique to California? It's a big deal here, and they do it with even younger kids, basically teaching them how to roll over and get a breath, swim to the edge of the pool and grab it to haul themselves out ... lifesaving maneuvers, essentially. Though at the moment, I am still fairly confident Queenie would drown if she fell in a pool.

So fun! Jack is in swim lessons right now too, and has his 6th and final (for this session) lesson today. I too feel like he would drown if push came to shove. Looks like we'll be signing up for the next session...and the one after that and that and so on. :)
