DIsneyland

Disclaimer--we were a little lazy with the camera, so all of these photos are from D's iphone. Not the best quality, sorry.

We spent Friday at Disneyland. Normally we avoid this place like the plague on a Friday in the summer, but D had a day off, we had a free Marriott hotel night we needed to use in the next few weeks, and the poor deprived kids aren't having much of a vacay this summer since we can't venture too far from home (and since Mom and Dad spent the vacay budget on a Hawaiian stay). So we decided to try it.

We got there right as they opened at 8, which was #1 awesome idea of the day. We rode Peter Pan, Dumbo, Space Mountain (twice), Buzz and got our Star Tours fast passes (recently reopened so SUPER busy) all in the first hour.

We played hard until about noon when we stopped for lunch. At that point, they had ridden all of the mountains, plus most everything else they were dying to do and things were heating up and getting crowded. Queenie and I rode up and down Main Street on a fire engine car while the others used Star Tours passes.

Just before we left for naps we caught Pluto.

Queenie ADORES Pluto--don't ask me why. She calls him "Cute-o" and

always insists on wearing the Huggies diapers with him on them.

She got a Pluto doll for Easter. So this was BIG.

Yes, everyone got their own cotton candy. Sometimes we like to spoil them a bit. :)

But we DID keep them to a $5 souvenir budget!

Around 1:30 we headed back to the hotel for awesome idea #2--swimming and naps. Miraculously, EVERYONE napped. 5:00 came and we got dinner at Carl's Jr. and headed back into the park. Things were still crowded but cooling off. We had ride switch passes for Space Mt and Big Thunder, and rode several others before finding a spot for the parade.

Around 8:30 Queenie was out for the night, but we enjoyed the parade, then Fantasmic! at 10:30 all while she snoozed peacefully.

Star Tours. D said it's pretty cool. Being preggo, I wouldn't know.

Then we rode out the last hour and a half with another trip to Star Tours and running on all of the Fantasy Land rides with NO WAIT. Turned out to be a great day at Disney ... though I am STILL sore from all the walking around. 34 weeks pregnant is not my ideal time to walk all over the park.

We caught the line for Pooh characters pretty empty just as we were coming off the ride. Queenie was so excited to see them, and we were still waiting for D and Chatterbox to get off Splash Mt, so we decided to wait. They made it back just in time for pictures! This is the first time Queenie has not been terrified of the characters, so that was fun. (She opted out of the photo with Tigger).

Chatterbox at Tarzan's treehouse. My girls love this place. I never go, especially not this time! This is one of those "Dad Jobs". :)

Dad and Chatterbox on Space. She is our daredevil. She's loved this ride since she could first go on it, just before she turned 4!
