We had such a fun Fourth of July this year! We spent the night of the 3rd up at D's parents' cabin, so we woke up in the mountains and had a lazy morning with crepes, caterpillars, and clean-up. (I'll post on that separately). We got home and crashed for a while. I cut up fruit, and then at 3 we headed over to a swimming party.
At 5, we all moved to another friend's home for a barbecue and watersliding in the backyard.
Water balloon fun
Then we returned to the first home's cul-de-sac for fireworks launching, glow sticks and sparklers. The girlies had cute 4th of July clothes, but insisted on wearing the "new" tie-dyed stuff we did at the cabin. They called them their "fireworks shirts".
We could also see the local high school's big show from there. The most excitement came when a big firetruck pulled up. A couple of firemen came over and gave us 3 of the largest fireworks you can buy at the stands to use in our festivities. Then they opened up their truck and let the kids walk through it and see everything. What a treat!
